The MPX module also provides 4 more TB3 ports, though I suspect we'll be mainly using networked 10GbE storage. The only thing Id really consider upgrading is the memory, 8gb isnt a lot in terms of video editing. I also use a gtx 970, but I think the vega 11 should be fine. ![]() I run on an i3-9100f, so I think youre a-ok with your CPU. The advantage of going with this configuration is that the PCI card slots are left open for future expansion, and there are theoretical advantages to the "Infinity Fabric Link" used with the MPX module that holds the GPUs: But for editing and color grading, Resolve run very well in my low spec laptop. What I recall was (basically) 2 x Radeon Pro Vega II cards equals the performance of 1 x Radeon Pro Vega II Duo card, and they cost about the same ($5200) and have the same total VRAM. Bare Feats had some interesting numbers, but it's inconclusive because they didn't try 8K material or very complex node grades: I've been going through so many online tests and articles over the last few weeks, it's hard to remember which was which. I will try to hunt the report down that I read. ![]()
